HÀ NỘI — The national women's futsal players are training hard in preparation for the international friendly tournament, the NSDF Women Futsal Championship 2024, in Thailand later this month.

Head coach Nguyễn Đình Hoàng said all of 18 players were in good physical condition, having just finished the national championship in Hà Nam Province.

National champions Thái Sơn Nam contribute most to the team, 11 players. They are playing alongside four athletes from Hà Nam, two from Hà Nội and one from Việt Nam Minerals and Coal.

The head coach said he will be mainly focusing on strengthening their technique and tactical abilities, including mental agility. Players who have switched from field football to futsal will be getting additional support from the coaching board.

The team will have friendly matches in HCM City to test their abilities, their set forms and any tactics, before leaving for Thailand on September 21.

The tournament, from September 22-28, will feature five teams, from Indonesia, China, Chinese Taipei, Việt Nam and the hosts. They will compete in a round robin format.

Việt Nam's first match will be against Chinese Taipei on September 24. VNS
