HÀ NỘI — The Asian Volleyball Confederation drew Vietnamese clubs into two different groups of the 2024 Asian Women's Championship to be held later this month.
Hóa Chất Đức Giang Lào Cai are in Group A with Kwai Tsing (Hongkong), 2022 champions Kuanysh VC (Kazakhstan) and silver medallists at the 2021 games, Nakhon Ratchasima QminC VC (hosts Thailand).
LP Bank Ninh Bình, silver medallists at the 2024 Bình Điền International Cup, are in Group B with 2016 winners NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki (Japan), Saipa Club (Iran) and Monolith Sky Risers (the Philippines).
The championship will be held from September 22-29 in Nakhon Ratchasima Province's 5,000-seater Chartchai Hall.
Two top teams of the tournament will qualify for the FIVB Women’s Club World Championship 2024 in December in China.
Last year, the national team of Việt Nam competed under the team name of Sport Centre 1. They defeated Diamond Food-Fine Chef of Thailand 3–2, at home, to take the title in Vĩnh Phúc Province. VNS
